The standards that guide every NEXUS journal.
All research articles undergo double-anonymised peer review by at least two independent reviewers. Editors and reviewers must declare conflicts of interest and may not handle manuscripts from their own institution or close collaborators. The final decision rests with the handling editor.
NEXUS follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and the ICMJE recommendations for medical journals. We investigate allegations of misconduct including plagiarism, data fabrication, image manipulation, duplicate publication and authorship disputes. All submissions are screened for similarity.
Authors must have made substantial contributions and approved the final version; contributions are listed using CRediT. Use of AI tools must be disclosed; AI tools cannot be authors.
Articles are published under CC BY 4.0. Authors retain copyright.
Authors are encouraged to deposit data in public repositories and must include a data availability statement.
Errors are corrected through published corrections. Articles may be retracted following COPE guidance.
NEXUS journals are newly launched. We will apply to DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science and other services as each journal meets their eligibility criteria, and will list confirmed indexing only after acceptance.
