Editorial policies

The standards that guide publication at NEXUS Scholarly Press.

Peer review

All research articles undergo double-anonymised peer review by at least two independent reviewers. Editors and reviewers must declare conflicts of interest and may not handle manuscripts from their own institution or close collaborators. The final decision rests with the handling editor.

Publication ethics

NEXUS Scholarly Press follows the principles set out in the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and the ICMJE recommendations for medical journals. We investigate allegations of misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, image manipulation, duplicate publication and authorship disputes.

Plagiarism

All submissions are screened for similarity before review. Manuscripts with substantial unattributed overlap with published work are rejected.

Authorship

Authors must have made substantial contributions to the work and approved the final version. Contributions are listed using the CRediT taxonomy. Use of AI tools in writing or analysis must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgements; AI tools cannot be listed as authors.

Open access and licensing

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright.

Data availability

Authors are encouraged to deposit data in public repositories and must include a data availability statement.

Corrections and retractions

Errors are corrected through published corrections. Articles may be retracted following COPE guidance when findings are unreliable or misconduct is found.

Archiving

We are arranging long-term digital preservation for all published content.

Indexing

NEXUS journals are newly launched. We will apply to indexing services such as DOAJ, Crossref, Google Scholar, Scopus and Web of Science as each journal meets their eligibility criteria, and will list confirmed indexing here.
