Transparent, fair article processing charges — and no fee at all for articles submitted before 30 June 2027.
Like other open access publishers, NEXUS does not charge readers or subscribers. Instead, the cost of peer review management, editing, production, hosting, DOI registration and long-term preservation is covered by an article processing charge (APC) paid by the author, institution or funder only after acceptance.

Prices exclude any applicable taxes. The APC applies once per article, regardless of length.

Request a waiver in your cover letter at submission; requests are handled by the editorial office, not by the handling editor.
An invoice is issued after acceptance. Payment is due within 30 days by card or bank transfer. Institutional and funder invoicing is available. Questions: editorial@nexusjournals.org.
If an article is withdrawn by the publisher before publication, or not published for reasons within our control, the APC is refunded in full.
